I HATED my BV450. HATED carrying the weighty and its bulk! However, a Bear Vault was REQUIRED where I hiked in a National Park in Colorado- being without meant a hefty fine. A BV is better than being mauled by a huge bear, however, my tax money supports, among other things, National Parks, did anyone ask me?

If people use bearvaults it protects the bears. If they start getting into people’s food, the bears can become a problem leading up to euthanizing them.

I don’t like the BV450. I strongly prefer the smaller BV425  and can get 4+ days of food in it. Or, step up to the smallest Bearikade (Scout?) for more space and less weight. Maybe you’d enjoy the user experience with one of those better, Naomi?
