Nitecore NB10000 Review

Nope. Yeah, you’d think Nitecore would be able to accommodate these extremely common backpacking electronic devices but, sadly, no.

You’re grasping at straws trying to find ways (settings, hacks, workarounds) to make it actually work-work. If there was a straw available … at least ONE of the Lumen people would have given it to me.

After much trial and error, and repeated calls and emails with Nitecore/Lumen, they toe a party line and state this “may be an issue for you,” and continue reading from an obviously pre-prepared script (same words, multiple contacts, multiple people) on this issue … “this is not considered a defect on this product.”

They’ve even dug up electronics article links that make it sound like a quasi-good thing, citing heat and over-charging risk, etc.

I personally NEVER listen to someone telling me their product’s shortfall is actually a great thing. lol

I think we can all agree if it was a great thing they are unable to automatically fully charge a device they’d put it at the top of their brochure. And if they could charge multiple levels for different devices they’d make a “knob” and advertise it as a “unique feature.” This is not a feature, this is a bug that will likely be fixed in future generations of the product line.

Net-net: Why pay 30% more for a 20,000 mAh bank that doesn’t really work … only to save 20 grams?

The Anker (in fact all of my Ankers) just plain work. Anker’s been at it for over a decade, is the category household name, and have a couple hundred million devices out there … why did I fight it? Why would you?

Samsung Galaxy has an option to stop charging at 85%???   I’ll have to go figure that out.

That is a strange bug. Needs to be reported to Nitecore.

Wow that is a dealbreaker. Glad my first generation model is still working fine
